Greetings Parents, Students, Faculty & Staff,

On behalf of the editorial team, I would like to introduce the October 2023 issue of The Salesian Spectator. I apologize for the delay of the delivery of this issue as I assume the position of Editor-In-Chief after Armando Gimenez ’22. I couldn’t be more proud of the effort our writers put into ensuring this first issue of the school year is a success. This issue entails 19 articles from the likes of Angelo Ledda ‘24, Jacob Matos ‘23, Lucas Rojas ‘24, Silas Gonzalez ‘24, and Matthew Pierpont ‘23 among others. This issue features sports highlights, standardized testing preparations, school events, and media entertainment coverage, among other stories.

In a very special way, this issue highlights special events that have taken place in our community like the recent open house and Big Brother Breakfast, but it also covers broader cultural events like the current NBA season and Try Guys social media controversy. This issue’s cover article also acknowledges our recent historic moment: Queen Elizabeth II’s passing.

The Spectator thanks the Salesian Community, our Faculty, Staff, and students who have contributed towards the very first issue of the school year. Our goal as the Spectator is to ensure that our Salesian Community has the means and access to use its voices. Our prayers are with our Salesian families at home and abroad, and we continue to keep those affected by world events in our hearts. I hope you enjoy the October issue put together by the men of the Salesian Spectator.

Warm Regards,

Aaron Jiang
