        “The Time Things Looked Up”

Tristen Martinez ’25 Initially, I believed that the transition from middle into high school was nerve-wracking, but it was up until I became a member of the Salesian community that all my worries went away. It was the day after graduation from 8th grade. I was finally relieved from the stress I dealt with in my…

Video Games as a Modern Art Form

Eric Richter ’23 When playing your favorite video games, all the factors that go into making the game feel good to play, listen to, and look at might just go over your head . From basic textures of the ground, to the design of the world, and the music that accompanies it, there are multiple forms…

Everything, Everywhere, All at Once (2022)

Matthew Ron Valeriano ’24 A couple of months ago, I wrote a review stating that Bullet Train was the best comedy-action movie I’ve seen in 2022, however, I have changed my mind since then. I recently saw a movie that captured my attention in all aspects: the action scenes, the fantasy, the character’s journey, and the…

March 3, 2023

Greetings Parents, Students, Faculty & Staff,

On behalf of the editorial team, I would like to introduce the February 2023 issue of The Salesian Spectator. This is the very first issue of the new year after all of our busy schedules from January. This issue entails articles from the likes of Angelo Ledda ‘24, Jacob Matos ‘23, Lucas Rojas ‘24, and Silas Gonzalez ‘24 among others. It features many of the events that have occurred within our Salesian community thus far in the new year. Specifically, this issue highlights spirit week and NHS’s successful “Spread The Warmth” drive, but it also covers broader world events like the 2023 World Baseball Classic and our new speaker.

The Spectator thanks the Salesian Community, our Faculty, Staff, and students who have contributed towards the very first issue of the school year. Our goal as the Spectator is to ensure that our Salesian Community has the means and access to use its voices. Our prayers are with our Salesian families at home and abroad, and we continue to keep those affected by world events in our hearts. I hope you enjoy the February Issue put together by the men of the Salesian Spectator.

Warm Regards,

Aaron Jiang
