Within the past years of 2020 and 2021, there has been a growing hate towards Asian people. This is due to the fact that the COVID-19 pandemic originated from bats in China. It is growing dangerous for Asian people to simply take a walk outside in case they get attacked by someone (this is even occurring in the United States). An example of this is how NBC News shows that there were about 3,800 anti-Asian racist incidents in the last year. People of Asian descent are getting attacked so badly to the point that they usually need to be hospitalized just because some people don’t know how to properly take out their anger.
The hate crimes towards Asian people have become so unbearable and horrible to the point that multiple Asians are dying in one night. This is revealed when the article, “Covid ‘Hate Crimes’ Against Asian Americans on Rise” states, “Eight people are killed in a shooting rampage across three Asian spas in one night.” This quote is showing how many people and places are being raided out of irrational hate due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since, hate crimes are getting out of hand, authorities should be taking action and trying to help Asian people. Luckily, these hate crimes are getting noticed and this is further proven when the article states, “The FBI warned at the start of the Covid-19 outbreak in the US that it expected a surge in hate crimes against those of Asian descent.” This quote is proving that the FBI was expecting a hate crime increase and warned people about it.
Thankfully, many people in power are starting to change the crimes with Asian hate. In fact, there was a recent bill passed to help anyone who has hate crimes being committed against them. The bill will be very helpful and important for any type of person because what it allows is an easier way to report hate crimes.

This is proven when the article “Congress Passes Bill to Counter the Rise in Anti-Asian Hate Crimes” states, “The bill also would expand efforts to make the reporting of hate crimes more accessible at the local and state levels, including providing online reporting resources that are available in multiple languages.” This is vital to many different people because if someone gets attacked in any area, then they can easily go on their phone and report a hate crime to get immediate help. This is showing a way to help both Asian people and others when hate crimes are committed against them.
