Aaron Judge: Yankee for Life?

Aaron Judge in the pinstripes for life? That’s what the Yankee super-slugger said in an interview with Fanatics, stating he wants to be a Yankee: “for the next 10 years.”

The 3x All-Star and 2017 AL Rookie of the Year award winner is about to enter his age 30 season, and his 7th season as a New York Yankee. The current face of the franchise was once a rookie who initially struggled to get the ball rolling in his favor in his 2016 campaign, but was able to shine in his 2017 season. Although he might’ve regressed in the eyes of some analysts since his 52 home run season, Judge’s ability to perform at a consistent level is phenomenal. With a career slashline of .276/.386/.554 and 158 home runs, Judge has proven to be a generational talent. From a 2018 to 2021 span, Judge managed to lead in WAR (Wins Above Replacement) for the Yankees despite not being able to play full seasons due to injuries.

“That place (Yankee Stadium”, every night being basically sold out. The fans always have your back. It’s a dream come true. That would be a wish of mine, to finish my career as a Yankee.” Judge responded to a question on Fanatics asking if he wanted to remain a Yankee for the rest of his career. It would be impossible for Yankee fans to visualize Judge playing for any other team, as he has captured the hearts of millions of New Yorkers throughout his career.

The Yankees will have to make a tough decision whether or not to extend Aaron Judge, and hopefully we could see Judge rocking the pinstripes for life.
