Monday January 24th, the Varsity bowling team honorably represented The Salesian Community as they battled Fordham Prep in the Championship game.
Pictured here in the back row (from left to right) Daniel Ramunno, Chris Novielli, William Schmid, and Nicholas Sanchez took on the best four Fordham could offer. The previous week, the quad had defeated the Stepinac Crusaders in the semi finals.
Following the superstars of Chris Novielli and William Schmid, the team took the first of three games against Fordham (The winner needing to have knocked over more pins after the course of three whole games of ten frames). After a close bowl in the second game, the third game featured an amazing performance and finish from Daniel Ramunno, and Chris Novielli, doing what he does, bowled a 170 with Schmid not far behind. All-in-all a great game for the team.

Unfortunately, the game ended up not going their way. However, Salesian did not go home empty handed. Along with the second place victory plaques, Chris Novielli took the first place prize for the best game out of all teams throughout the season. Chris had bowled a 227 to get this award. Also, Chris took home the second place plaque for the highest game average throughout the season. Congrats!
Amazing season for the team, and a bright future to be led by Nick Sanchez and Daniel Ramunno. Every bowler should be proud of their season and their individual accomplishments. A thanks goes out from the Salesian Spectator to the coaches – Mr. Nicholas Federico and Mr. John Celzo – and a farewell to William Schimd and Chris Novielli as this was their senior season. You’ve made your community proud boys!
